Locals know how challenging and exciting skiing at Gore Mountain can be — particularly with its new trails and 'Interconnect' routes to the North Creek Ski Bowl — but Gore's attributes haven't been heralded as much as those of Vale, Stowe Mountain, Telluride or Maine's Sugarloaf. This week, however, it was named as one of the five "most underrated" ski resorts in North America by a skiing website and its amenities were praised as among the best anywhere.
Thanks to Mother Nature as well as hundreds of snow guns, skiing is great at Gore Mountain, which opened earlier this year than any season since 1986.
Hudson Chair opens Dec. 28
The Gore Mountain ski center opened the Ski Bowl Park’s tubing run for the season on Dec. 21 and the Village Slopes for skiing and snowboarding on Dec. 26. But not everything at Gore this past week went as planned.
