Twelfth Night celebration Jan. 6 in Putnam
Twelfth Night will again be celebrated by the Ticonderoga Festival Guild. The annual event will be held Monday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m. at the Putnam Presbyterian Church.
Production slated Dec. 29
The Sunday School children and teachers at the First United Methodist Church in Ticonderoga will present a Christmas play Sunday, Dec. 29, during the 10:30 a.m. service.
Looking back, Aug. 5-9 was a week of blessings, learning, and much “joyful noise” from the busy, happy children who took part in Vacation Bible School.
Community dinner slated Nov. 27
Crown Point will observe Thanksgiving with a community dinner, sponsored by the town’s churches and businesses. The turkey dinner will be served Wednesday, Nov. 27, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Crown Point United Methodist Church on Creek Road. The dinner is free.
The holiday season is just around the corner and this year the North River United Methodist Church’s Sunday school children are participating with the Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Gift Campaign.

First United Methodist to host new bishop Oct. 20
The First United Methodist Church will welcome Bishop Mark Webb to Ticonderoga Sunday, Oct. 20. Webb will participate in the 10:30 a.m. worship service, which will be followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.
Elliott Shaw marks 25 years at St. Mary’s Church
Elliott Shaw celebrated his 25th anniversary as a Catholic deacon Oct. 1. A life-long Ticonderoga resident, Shaw serves St. Mary’s Church in Ti.
Annual CROP Walk set Oct. 19
The 10th annual CROP Walk to end hunger will be held in Ticonderoga. The 2013 event will Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. It will begin and end at the Heritage Museum at the entrance to Bicentennial Park. There will be mile, 2-mile and 4-mile walks.
Jennie Bensen is the new MCA principal
The new principal at Mountainside Christian Academy in Schroon Lake is no stranger. Jennie Bensen, a 1997 Mountainside graduate and former teacher at the school, is now the principal. She replaces Connie Phillips, who retired last spring.
The Apostolic Nuncio to the United States for the Roman Catholic Church will be in Lake Placid at the end of this month to lead a special mass.
