North Creek The Calendar Committee of the North Creek All Aboard 2013 Calendar invites the public to a free program celebrating the project’s success. Proceeds from the sale of the hugely popular calendar will be awarded to local not-for-profit organizations at a gala event Saturday, March 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek.
Lucky recipients to share in the proceeds are the Elizabeth Nash Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis, North Country Ministry, North Country Hardship Fund, Johnsburg Historical Society, Tannery Pond Community Center and Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Representatives from each organization will be present to accept the grant checks.
Reaction to the calendar was overwhelmingly positive as evidenced by sales data. Local merchants scrambled to keep up with demand. Because of the popularity of the calendar, Committee Chair Nancy Beaudin notes that the lucrative fundraiser will be repeated again with a 2014 version.
While the names of the models posing for the 2014 edition remain top secret at this time, most folks have enjoyed an eyeful of the twenty-seven models in the 2013 calendar. Cost of the current calendar, originally $15, has been moved to “make a donation.”
Crucial to the success of the project was Beaudin’s committee comprised of Cindy LaPell, Lyle Dye, Barbara MacNaughton and Noel Dingman. There would have been no calendar without the talents of photographers David Braley, Stephanie Leonard, Craig Murphy and Elise Widlund, graphic design by Susanne Murtha of Apropos Design Solutions and Chris Callahan of Century Direct Printing. Countless sponsors and volunteers also deserve to take a bow.
Light refreshments and music will be provided. Public is encouraged to attend this celebration to thank the donors, supporters, volunteers and the entire community for contributing to the success of this fun fundraiser.
