MINERVA/NEWCOMB — The Minerva-Newcomb Mountaineers varsity boys soccer team will be trying to rebuild with a younger team this year, and Coach Millie Winslow is confident they will do just that.
“After losing seven starters from last season, including our goal keeper, we have some holes to fill,” Winslow said. “Our focus is on conditioning, strengthening, and fundamentals at this point. I am very pleased with the progress we are making and I look forward to a successful and competitive season.
The team had a 10-4 overall record in 2011, going 9-3 in league play.
